Upgrading from Version 1 of the Reconciler
Previous  Top  Next

These notes are designed for users of the original version of the programme. This new version of programme (Eclipse_Reconciler_Service.exe v. 2.3), replaces the original version (Reconcile.exe v. 1.0.0.0) AND the Register_Reconciler.exe (which was used for configuring the programme).

Uninstalling the Old Version

First stop the Service using your Windows Service control manager. Now create a shortcut to the programme, right click on it, Properties and add the following switch to the Target line: /uninstall

e.g. "C:\Program Files\Navigator Systems\Eclipse\reconcile.exe" /uninstall

Double-click the shortcut to run the programme using the "uninstall" switch.

Installing / Uninstalling

Copy all the files in this zip to their own folder (for ease of finding them).

You need to be logged onto the server as an Administrator.
You need to have the BDE installed and the MultiCompany utility for Eclipse must be set to a valid database for the Administrator's log in.

To install the service you should run (double-click) the batch file, Install_Reconciler_Service.bat
To uninstall the service you should run (double-click) the batch file, Uninstall_Reconciler_Service.bat

Once the service is installed you will need to set it to Log On As the Administrator in the Windows Services Control panel.

Setup

To invoke the user interface for configuring the programme you should run (double-click) the batch file, Setup_Reconciler_Service.bat

TimeStyle
---Time - this will run the system reconciliation at the same time every day - e.g. 10:00
---Interval - this will run the system reconciliation every X minutes. Acceptable values are 0 - 999

Advanced Settings
---Run for ALL databases - this will look at all the databases set up in HireTrack Eclipse Multi-Company Utility on this machine and run a system reconciliation for each one.
---Override Overdue Days - his can have a significant impact on your availability checking. Only change from 1 day if you know you are using the OVERDUE switch in Eclipse
---Write Progress to Event log - if checked then info. on key stages of the reconciliation process will be written to the Window Event Log. This option is only useful for debugging the programme

Starting / Stopping

You can use batch files to start and stop the service without having to use the Windows Services Control panel. Since you can add batch files to the Windows Scheduler you can then stop the service will your backup runs once a day.
