Eclipse File Manager

| It is not impossible that some sort of server failure could result in database files getting deleted. If this happens then Eclipse will malfunction and running a database repair will not necessarily pick up the problem. The Eclipse File Manager can run a complete file check by cross referencing the database with a file listing that Eclipse itself keeps up to date (DB_Zip.INI). A full listing on "missing" and "surplus" files is displayed after the file checking process and these can be copied to the clipboard or printed out. Surplus files can be deleted by right clicking on them, and the popup menu that hosts the delete option also displays information about what any surplus files may be.

| Temporary files called pdoxusrs.lck and paradox.lck are created by Eclipse locally and on the server whenever Eclipse performs a database operation. However, when no one is running Eclipse none of these files should remain on individual PC's or on the server; if any do remain then its likely that a crash has resulted in the files not being cleaned up properly by Eclipse and these files could cause error messages in Eclipse in another working session. In the event of this the files can be manually deleted, but the File Manager can do this for you, performing searches locally, on your data drive, or your whole network.

| pdoxusrs.net is responsible for orchestrating the creation and destruction of the *.lck files and for this reason there should only ever be one pdoxusrs.net file on your server drive (as specified by the NETDIR path in the BDEAdministrator). Occasionally, this file itself can get corrupted and it can do no harm to delete this as well when clearing *.lck files.

| The File Manager has built in file compression, zipping and FTP facilities that will allow you to upload your data to our secure Incoming folder on our FTP site. Before you attempt this you will need to fill in your internet connection details from the Options menu. The Zip & Send tab allows you to send your entire database or just discreet data sets (e.g. Address Book) in order to reduce the file size of your data being transferred.
