There is a facility to mark a barcoded item as a Consignment in the Equipment Book. Consignments are pieces of equipment that belong to other people or companies stored and managed by you. Typically, rental charge will be split between your company and the owner, so it is important to store the complete rental history for that item. Setting up a barcode as a Consignment is the way to do this. The entire rental history of a barcode is then recorded in the Consign.db as opposed to the last 6 hires that are stored in Item.db. Even users who do NOT manage kit for someone else can benefit for setting some or all of their barcodes as Consignments, especially now that in Eclipse 2.3 there is the facility to set a default consignment owner for barcodes.

You may write your own reports to get information out about the usage of a Consignment, but you will find it a lot easier to use the Consignment Usage Utility.

The programme comes with two reports that provide information on revenue and utilization; more reports can be added to the Print Menu if required.
