Using with Terminal Services
Previous  Top  Next

Do Not try to install activesync on the terminal server machine!

It is not possible to make activesync work directly with terminal services as the USB port cannot be virtualised.

instead:

Create a share of the synchronised files folder of the MC50 on the client machine. For instance share

C:\Documents and Settings\Richard\My Documents\Scanner1 my documents\ as scandir

Create a login script or batch file to map the share scandir as a drive such as Z: under terminal server

Setting the environment variables in the Terminal server session for the current user to PALM=Z:\ and QUESTOR=Z:\

this will allow eclipse to read the data files as if they were on the server.

If you require multiple Scanners to work with a terminal server client , you may need a third party program such as

Mightysync3
from www.mydocumentsunlimited.com

this allows you to define the directory that all the scanners use to synchronize from so that only one directory needs to be mapped.
