For an equipment type to appear on an equipment list, it must first be in the inventory list. The Add New Tab of the popstock window enables a user to add New Types to the Equipment List which are not yet in the inventory list. Users must be granted permission to this function in the configuration utility.
Press the
button and then enter your equipment description. Then press the
button, and the description will appear on the Main tab of the popstock, which will allow it to be added to the equipment list. If you make a mistake or decide not to add this type to the stock list, before you press the update button, you may press the Abort button.
The rental price will need to be entered manually on the Equipment List. When a new type is added using this process, the equipment type is added to the default New Equipment Category and the stock level is set to 0. Therefore it will appear in red as a shortage on your equipment list until it is either stocked in, or a subhire is created. If this equipment is likely to be used again, Open the equipment book and add the required details such as the Price Scheme, Daily Price, etc. and change its Category from New Equipment to an appropriate category.
Note: If you will rent or hire this type of equipment on a consistent basis, then add it to your stock list. If it is a type that will be used on a one time basis, then it may be better to create a type of equipment named "Specialty Equipment", then enter the information on the NOTES page of the equipment list. You can then modify your printed forms to print the notes field when this type is selected.
