Multi-Site Functions

The purchase of the optional Multi-site module allows the tracking of equipment across multiple offices spread across town, across the country or around the world. Equipment can be transferred between these sites, loaned from one site to another, or used for a single job and then returned to the origin site. Each site owns a quantity of equipment as it's starting point for calculating availability and transfers, loans and Job transfers all impact this availability.

Job Transfers:
Job Transfers is the process of borrowing a piece of equipment from another site and then returning that equipment once the job is completed. Equipment that is not being used in another location is considered available to other sites, however, there is the expectation that equipment used in Job Transfers will be returned to it's origin once the equipment is returned from being used. Transit times between sites must be considered when checking availability of equipment in other sites.

Loans In/Loans Out:
Loans are opened ended loaning of equipment from one site to another. The ownership of the equipment never leaves the origin site, however, equipment that is loaned to another site is no longer available in the origin site, and it becomes available in the destination location.

Stock Transfer:
Stock Transfer is the permanent movement of equipment between sites where the ownership of the equipment is transferred to another location. Stock Transfers are the equivalent of stocking out equipment from one site and stocking it into another site. 2 entries are made into the stock audit trail (stock out and then stock in) whenever equipment is transferred between sites.
