It is possible to create barcodes for Composite Types even though you do not own any composites. You can the assign barcodes for the components of the composite barcode so when the composite barcode is scanned out on an Equipment List, the Component barcodes of that Composite are automatically recorded as being sent out. This saves time when equipment is inside a case and to scan the components would require opening the case. You must create the barcodes for all the component items before these barcodes can be assigned to the master barcode.
If you wish to track Component parts of Composites, the Comp Codes tab allows you to define exactly which barcoded items are represented by the Composite's barcode.
To automatically track the component pieces of a composite:
Create the composite barcode on the Items tab.
Select the Comp Codes tab.
Select the component piece from top window and a list of available barcodes will appear in the Available Items window.
Select the barcode you wish to assign to the Composite Code and press the button.

Moving Components from a Composite Code
Sometimes you may need to move equipment from one composite to another for equipment like amp racks or dimmer racks
To remove the barcode from the composite
Select the component piece from top window and a list of available barcodes will appear in the Available Items window.
Select the barcode you wish to assign to the Composite Code and press the button.

Track Part Of - Display the link between the Component Barcode and the Master Barcode on the Items Page. This is a display function and is normally turned off to aid in speed of displaying barcodes on the This Item tab.
